I`m a chozer ba`tshuva and also divorced. I was given 3 dates to speak for 1 hour before being coerced and told "no one will ever want you". To me the worst of all the things that happen is that the woman or man is either alone or has Mafia connections to win the other side. Seize kids, desecrate and slander their name so they are ostracized in the community.
What happens after? Ok, sigh, I have a friend who went back to the States and married a Shiite moslem. Another friend, a Sabra, goes to USA and converts and marries a Catholic. A third goes off the Jewish derech completely. This means that they disengage to all things Jewish. Whatever these women went through they went it cold alone and even religious friends "arms length" them as if to say that "I`m not like her" and the isolation clearly works out beautifully doesn`t it? |
