Lieberman, oy, you`re living in the past. You think (or you think your publics` think) that so much depends on the old ways (or on instructing the Arabs in the old ways) as if they didn`t already know of them, and do not also realize that they are neither here nor there.
To what do I refer? Sadat getting on a plane and personally visiting, that signified, then. But now, who cares? One can travel two oceans (as you have done) and not say a single thing worth hearing or commit to a single thing worth doing.
The core issue is not one of personalities nor of cultures but of policies and interests.
Let`s grant your argument: natural growth is needed. So when will it stop? In any other country, when borders are reached, that`s it (yes, in the past, currently stable countries like the US and Canada had some trouble with border raiding parties of pesky fenians, but that`s what we`re trying to get away from in the Levant.)
Clearly, the US must stay on message: no growth! |
