The Syrians used to shoot down on Israeli farmers from the Golan Heights. I know because my family lived near there on a kibbutz in the early `70s.
If the aggressor nation (Syria) happens to lose territory to the defender nation (Israel), then a real estate transaction has just occured.
Obviously, there are many different types of aggression that could be considered acts of war. A nation needs to know that if they embark upon an irresponsible course, and most people with common sense know it when they see it, then they could lose more than a generation of young people. |
