BDF has the right idea. Tolerance and respect should be paramount in the Jewish faith. Turning away the GLBT community or allowing them to be persecuted by these "christians" is unacceptable.
I am embarassed when Rabbis speak out against homosexuality - if you spend enough time with the scripture, you should gain a sense of the relativity of its words. You should be able to take Leviticus with a grain of salt, understand its symbolic purposes. Understanding the Bible in context is a most Jewish virtue. |
