And Israel decided that it didn`t want to be a democracy anymore, or maybe it was to retain certain elements of a democracy but not universal sufferage or freedom of speech and other ideas this might actually fall more in line with what Obama said in his speech.
"So let me be clear: no system of government can or should be imposed upon one nation by any other"
What if Israel changed its regime to an Iranian style, whereby there could be votes but a higher council maintian ultimate power.
However, this is more in tune to what he said. "This last point is important because there are some who advocate for democracy only when they are out of power..."
of course i have cut and pasted Obama`s word to my choosing, and in so misconstrued his words, this was just food for thought with hopes of showing a disparity that is unspoke and unjudged in the west. |
