| I fully understand that the lynch pin of America`s problems in the middle east is it`s special relationship with Israel and the consequences of Israel`s ongoing struggle with the Palestinians. Obama is wise to understand that American diplomacy in the region would be several orders of magnitude easier were there peace between Israel and the Palestinian and a Palestinian State beside the State of Israel. But just because there is a single problem who`s solution would make things immensely easier does not mean that problem can be solved. The last election makes it clear that the majority of Israelis oppose a free and independent Palestine; and favor the expansion of settlements in Judea and Sumaria without any restraint. Thus a Palestinian state is impossible. Obama is spinning his wheels and wasting his time. |
