There`s a new wind of reality blowing when even the vehement pro-Palestinian Jimmy Carter comes out in support of some of the settlements. Yes, last week Carter visited Gush Etzion and said on the record that even he saw that some settlements were part of Israel and could never be given to the Palestinians:
"This particular settlement (Gush Etzion) is not one that I envision ever being abandoned or changed over into Palestinian territory," said former U.S. president Jimmy Carter meeting with Shaul Goldstein, head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council. "This is part of the close settlements to the 1967 line that I think will be here forever."
