Bravo to the Beth Simchat Torah, their courageous stand, and their creative fundraising idea to confront the haters from Kansas. Those of us in the Jewish community dedicated to achieve equal rights for all members of society, including GLBT people, shudder with disgust when we see intolerance. And how much the more so when members of this nefarious organization who have turned a presumably peaceful religion into an instrument of hate. I am afraid that there is where the real perversion lies, when an institution distorts its primary mission and vision for the viewpoints of manipulators and haters.
God`s true message is that each of us is made in the Divine Image, and therefore a sexual orientation, whether heterosexual or homosexual, comes directly from the Creator. We can express wonder at God`s creative efforts, but we must not hate. |
