Dear Zvi: For crumb`s sake! Don`t romantize "the street" in Iran! They are NOT in control and there never was one, or two Irans, there always were many. You know as well as I do, that 73 (or so) million dollars of regime-change funding has played a role in this Iranian election. Also, the Supreme Leader is NOT considered infallible (you did not say this, but NBC and otgher US networks did) and he was clearly irritated and indicating that protests were out of line. However, he is a political appointee, as many Iranians know.
US insprired regime change? Or real change? In the end, the election does not shift the structure of the Iranian govt. |
