How is is possible that this election was not a total charadeF?
Ahmedinijad was already declared the winner immediately after the polls closed and long before the votes could hvae been counted. And the election officials and the media are all run by the Ayatollahs.
How could the unprecedented massive turnout of young poeple who sought more liberty in Iran, including the right for women to go about with their heads uncovered, not tip the vote?
Why did the regime prohibit sendint text messages, close down the opposing newspaper, attempt to disrupt Internet access if not to prevent the truth from leaking out?
There is a regime in Iran that is so afraid of the truth and of a future in which it is rejected by the Iranian people that it will take any step necessary to keep itself in power - even if it disguises a totalitarian strangulation of freedom as a "religious democracy." |
