| A cruse through Iranian papers this morning reveals a wide spread of responses. They vary from trying to present the news without drawing reprisals, to pretending there is no news, to pretending the rallies are all for Ahmadinejad. Iran Daily has a most perceptive take on things on it`s home page. The first three stories create a good picture of the situation. http://www.iran-daily.com/1388/3427/html/ I now suspect the Gezzers are on the verge of going for broke. It is pretty clear the daily peaceful demonstrations for an honest election are not ebbing, perhaps growing. It is also clear that the nightly riots by both sides, but especially the organized thuggery of Ahmadinejad`s `Militias` has failed to cow the protesters. And the national response is best displayed in the plummeting stock market. I expect a brutal oppression to happen soon. |
