I am happy to see the people of Iran demanding their right to free and fair elections.
I am delighted to see them challenging the self-styled guardians of the revolution.
I applaud the vigor, and persistence they are showing.
If the Ayatollah`s are forced to back down, Ahmadinejad will take the blame. The system will have been weakened, but not replaced.
If the government collapses, then who knows what will rise from the wreckage?
Thirty years of hostility by the US and Israel will not be forgotten. Or forgiven under any circumstances.
Under any circumstances the most extreme elements of the current regime will be weakened.
The current protest is not for overthrow of the government, it is for an honest election. |
