The author`s thinking is flowed at best and malicious legitimatizing Israel at worst. First, I guess the author did not grow up in anti-Semitic environment to recognize the blood libel. His defense of it as just a "think-piece" is akin to labeling "The Protocols" as just a harmless "allegory". And that Obama quote in regards to the support to Israel -- all of my American Jewish friends were rather blind during the campaign rhetoric, "he does not really mean it, Stan, he is only saying it to get elected". Now they are swearing the day they voted that intellectual nothing into the White House. But that`s beside the point. Picking out a standard academic rhetoric of prominent liberals, it is unworthy of response. Even the great Dr Martin Luther King Jr. once wrote an entire piece devoted to an "Anti-Zionist" movement that this author is so devoted to, said "When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--make no mistake about it." |
