`"There is understanding in the U.S. and in Europe with regards to the basic need to continue natural [settlement] growth," Lieberman told Israel Radio...`
Would someone please explain to me why it seems so difficult for Israel to grow settlements WEST of the Green Line?
This constant nibble, nibble, nibble at the West Bank by Israel isn`t going to leave much territory for a viable Palestinian state (which may very well be the intended outcome by Israel).
Look, I agree with Bibi - any Palestinian state will have to recognise Israel as a Jewish state, forget the `right of return`, and start off life completely demilitarised. But in return, Israel should at least avoid cantonising its new neighbour, and give it some chance of economic and political success.
