I don`t think Haaretz has a covert strategy directed by the Israeli government. The reporting is a result of non-verifiable situation on the ground in Tehran. Other news sources are inconsistent as well. There`s also a problem for governments, world wide not to appear overtly supporting Mousavi. That could give hard-line Clerics an excuse. That this is an international plot to overthrow their regime. This incredible situation must be reconciled within Iran itself.... and it will be. I think even Khamenei is not totally in charge. Instead there`s an internal cleric-group, which have taken over the security apparatus of Iran. They will not give-up willingly.... too much wealth [yes money] and power at stake.
