| Netanyahu wasn`t "cowering." He was being very shrewd. By offering the Palestinians a state, he has forced them to show their hand once and for all for the whole world to see. And the hand shows they still have no intention of accepting a Jewish state in the Middle East on historic Jewish land. All else is wishful thinking and delusion. As far as cries by certain columnists in Haaretz that a demilitarized Palestinian state is tantamount to colonialism, or impossible to achieve if the PA is to dominate Hamas, or leaves Palestinians defenseless: first,what do they need to defend themselves from after a real peace treaty - Jordan? As for "colonialism," and "defenselessness" -- Costa Rica is a demilitarized, fully sovereign state. It has a quality national guard to protect the peace and maintain order. And that`s without having a history of or intention of trying to destroy any of its neighbors. What`s so bad about that? |
