Perhaps one of the reasons that Bibi`s statement is not met with wild rejoicing is that the settlements as they currently are, make life very difficult in the W Bank already. Note not a little awkward, but very difficult. Much of the land used for settlements is not on the highly debatable "state land" but on private Palestinian land (in other words - theft).
In addition, the "natural growth" of settlements is abused by tricks such as a new building being built a few hundred meters outside existing perimeter of a settlement and then the land between is also taken and then guess what? A buffer zone to protect from terrorist attack of a few hundred more meters is needed. And on and on. |
