I liked his speech very much. I think he really nailed the pin on the head. The core issue is and will always be the "right of the Jewish people to live in their homeland". The Palestinians must recognize Israel`s right to exist if there is going to be peace. The lack of this recognition is the reason that this conflict has continued for so long. I am impressed with Netanyahu`s courage. By stating that he supports a Palestinian state, he risks loosing his government. To Kilminster, I must say, that the picture he painted of the future Palestinian state is not a protectorate or Israel, but one of the International Community. Netanyahu would not agree to have Israeli soldiers keeping the peace in any final status agreements, it would have to be the international community. And you are not correct, Texas would not have as much power. They would have full control over every aspect of their economy, education, culture,trade. Only in the area of military would they not have control. |
