The Palestinians have been given a rock-solid guarantee by this US Administration that Obama will protect them from being dragged to the negotiating table against their will. And that guarantee will be good until such time as Israel has completely frozen all construction in the settlements. So Erakat and Abbas will wait, and in a day or so Obama will pick up the Road Map - again - and point to the line where Israel accepted a full and complete construction freeze, and he will tell Netanyahu - again - to honour that signature. Only this time there will be the hint of an "Or Else" attached to that request. Bibi`s speech has a shelf-life of less than a week..... |
