Netanyahu`s speech is very disappointing. The conditions that Netanyahu proposes for a Palestinian state (no airspace rights and no military force) undermines the principle of self-governance.
Without conceding Israeli atrocities and Israeli violations of international law, Netanyahu appears to hold the actions of Jews to a different standard than the actions of Palestinians.
Japan may not have a "military" per-say, but their self-defense police force (which includes an impressive air force) is far more powerful than South Korea`s established "military." The legitimacy of any Palestinian police force equivalent of a military would never be accepted by Netanyahu, who insists on total demilitarization. |
