| The White House Press secretary attributes to Obama the idea that he is committed to a Jewish State of Israel. The key word is -Jewish-, which suggests Obama now has changed his views and accepts Netanyahu`s insistance on that formulation, which however is unacceptable to Palestinians, since it consigns the Israeli Arabs to inferior status, as non-Jews within a Jewish state. As everyone knows, no modern state is defined by ethnicity, and in accepting this exceptionalism, (unless the spokesman`s language is corrected) the White House has torpedoed any residual Palestinian goodwill. |
