| The problem with investing in the West Bank is the infinate levels of beauracry and corruption investors have to endure. A simple power of attorny document takes at least a month or two to be approved, it must be notorized then sent to the PLO mission, then to the interior ministry in the WB, then to the department of security then to the department of justice. By the time it is approved, the investor would have developed an ulcer. Once a friend of mine proudly suggested to me "If you decide to build a house in the WB, I can arrange to bring you the building permit without having to pay any fines". The pricks figure out how to fine you even before you buy your first brick. If one considers the political liabilities as well, it is safer to invest your money at the roulette table in Las Vegas or Monoco. |
