| Ephraim Halevy is right in an ideal world, though. In the real one, people bought Ahmadinejad`s discourse, or added fuel to his incendiary Holocaust-denial and threats to destroy Israel. Ahmadinejad won the PR war, and entered Latin America, Indonesia, Iraq, entrenched Iran even more in Syria and Lebanon, and coopted the Gulf states. Israel lost the PR war, largely by its contempt at PR. Nevertheless the re-election of Ahmadinejad and the rioting in Iran in its aftermath are visible signs of Iran`s true face - for anybody as naive as Obama - i.e. most of the people. |
