As more and more Jewish extremists, some of them in government, spout their nutty views, it becomes easier and easier to imagine Israel eventually turning into a Jewish version of Iran or even Afghanistan. I see the anti-gay mafia have, for instance, already arrived on here to post their diatribes.
Tolerance of gays, plus other key issues like women being equal to men, is what keeps alive the idea of Israel as a western democracy, when it`s being battered by religious extremism, the occupation, ethnic discrimination etc. etc. |
