| From the US perspective we want Ukraine in NATO to neutralize Russia`s oil pipeline to Europe, which I understand still has a vicelike grip on Europe`s energy needs. The plan from the US side as I understand it is to build an alternate pipeline that precludes the Azerbaijani one controlled by Russia. Would have thought it would be in Eu`s interest as well, but Russian military threat is closer... |
