It`s not uncommon to hear argued that Jews who thought they could assimilate found out otherwise in the Holocaust: no amount of assimilation was enough for the Nazis. Therefore, be proud of who you are. This leaves out that many are proud in the degree of assimilation that we choose.

Staying in the shtetl hardly provided safety either -- rarely mentioned.

Strategic voting critic say does not have the desired effect. We are encouraged, instead, to vote our hearts. With identity, we shouldn`t identify strategically, in this way, or out of fear, neither with assimilation, nor against it. Instead, we should choose what we want, because there are no guarantees.

If you`re a right-winger, right-wing away, because no amount of cowering will save you from opponents, but don`t be foolishly strident either.

With no guarantees, there`s an element of the strategic. If odds favour not being with goyim, odds favour not visiting museums on june 10 even more. Limited insights.
