| .... and it is ground where Netanyahu has to fight alone..... There is no way that he can win the fight over a settlement freeze, because Obama can simply keep escalating the stakes, and nobody - NOBODY - will be willing to step in and tell him he has gone too far. Netanyahu`s only hope is to switch the topic onto something else, and the **only** way to do that is to agree with Obama. At which point Bibi is sunk, because 1) *if* settlement construction is frozen until the final agreement is signed, 2) *and* Bibi has no intention of ever signing such an agreement, 3) *then* the settlements must stagnate indefinitely. Netanyahu`s govt simply has no chance of surviving that, and he knows it. |
