For the good of Israel, Netanyahu and Lieberman should stubbornly, petulantly, menacingly stand by their foolish principles to the bitter end, until they are removed from office in disgrace and with contempt. Nothing at the moment can better improve Israel`s prospects. It is way too soon for Livni to come to the rescue.
The only things Netanyahu is capable of offering the Obama team are hypocrisy, deceit, and deception.
Obama needs to push hard against anything from Bibi that is not directed honestly and earnestly toward a viable Palestine living in peace and mutual security with Israel. Obviously, this means pushing hard at the same time on the Palestinians and Arab governments.
Change must come to Israel. An ignominious exit of the Netanyahu government would be a good beginning. But not too soon. First, we want the American public to notice. |
