As an American Jew who is both a fervent supporter of the State of Israel and a supporter of President Obama I feel the settlers who destroy Palestinian property and are racists shame me and should shame the Israeli people. The latest opinion polls show that 80% of American Jews support Obama and they know he is doing the best for America and for Israel. The people who criticize him want the Arabs to either disappear or else stay in a giant prison. The people who truly care about Israel want to see a Jewish State of Israel living in peace next to a Palestinian State. The critics of Obama do NOT want peace.
Has Israel learned anything since the assassination of Rabin? Last week a right wing settler threatened an Israeli general and the generals family because the general took down an illegal outpost. The settlers take money that is badly needed inside of Israel for the hungry, the disabled, and elderly and they are destroying Israel`s soul and morality and they must be stopped! |
