| "did Hamas start building schools, universities, a free-market economic system, or any other part of a normal civilized society" Gaza had all of these, actually, until Israel destroyed them. The blockade wiped out the free-market system, since there was nothing to trade - this was entirely intentional. It also made it impossible to pay teachers or obtain educational supplies. Then the IAF destroyed all the factories, the university and some of the schools, as well as a large chunk of the farms. There`s no building materials to rebuild, either; again thanks to Israel. "Hamas` top agenda was to go on a brutal rampage directed against its own people, the members of Fatah." That would be because Fatah was preparing to overthrow them by force, at the instigation of the US and (yes) Israel. "Their next ?priority? was to start shooting missiles at Israel." It was the only thing they could do to put pressure on Israel to lift the blockade. It didn`t work, of course. |
