The author clearly is trying to make excuses to dismiss this as an isolated occurrence when in fact in the occupied territories such racism runs rampant. Clearly these punks felt that it was acceptable behavior in Israel, and that is the core of the problem is it not?
I can also say from personal experience while living in a college town that only in Israel would such racist talk be tolerated. In the melting pot that is the USA, even the drunkest college kids know such hate speech would be detrimental to their health. |
