Is not the reality that these settlements in the West Bank were established by the Israeli government contrary to international law. They, of course, have been determined as legal by the Israeli authorities under Israeli law and using the Israeli Supreme Court to apply the figment of credibility and legitimacy. That Israeli law does not stand up against international law. International law equally stands over 3,000 year old history beliefs, the bible, the Torah or concepts such as "chosen people" or "promised land". Having built walls, settlements and legal structures, Israel is where it is - so reminiscent of the Berlin Wall, the land theft in South Africa and Zimbabwe (for the chosen people too) backed up by the South African and Southern Rhodesia apartheid parliamentary and legal trappings to give a figment of credibility. Israel needs to think deeply about where it is and where it is going. These barriers disappeared due to social processes as in the cases mentioned above.
