| I`m glad President Obama challenged the Arab world to face up to the truth of the Holocaust. But the essential core fact still missing in his narrative is that Israel`s legitimacy is not based on the Holocaust as his Cairo speech implied, but on the fact that Israel is reconstituted on the historic Jewish homeland, recognized as Jewish land for 1500 years, and only lost for any great length of time after three horrific military defeats against the Romans, after which the Romans renamed Judea as "Palestina." And that all three Abrahamic faiths implicitly recognize the Biblical narrative that the Jews do have a stake in the land, since Christianity and Islam rest on the Hebrew Bible as a validating scripture for their own assumed validity. |
