The 2 state solution is not controversial. If it were, Israel would not have built a fence in the middle of itself. Israel cannot annex the West Bank nor can it hold it forever. The only thing Israel would gain from resisting the creation of a Palestinian state would be a bi-national one.
It should offer to negotiate a mutually agreed border with the Palestinians and both sides should accept mediation so the process can work. It should offer to recognize the sovereignty of a Palestinian state on the other side of the border if such a state recognizes Israeli sovereignty on its side and doesn`t threat Israel. |
