| I lived in Israel from the early 70`s - 1990 and we did talk about the need for a Palestinian State daily, all the time for all that time. It was not called "The Two State Solution" but even then especially after the Yom Kippur War`s conquests, we knew Israel would not be able to occupy all of the people it gained along with the land won in the wars while staying a democratic state. We lost our way and have suffered and made the Palestinians suffer too. Had the leaders back then had the vision and courage to forward the idea of a Palestinian State things would be much better for Israel today. As it is so much hatred has built up that it`s hard to imagine 2 states living side by side in peace and friendship. It will take generations. |
