I seriously believe that mr Zetler thinks he is not a racist. He honestly thinks that his attitude is logical, reasonable and not offensive.
I think soemthing far worse is the case: Israeli society is through-and-through segregation oriented. In the entire western world, this can simply be defined as `racist`, but when you are taught from birth that Arabs are basically good, but mentally inferior people that you should not mingle with, you don`t see it as racist.
Zetler choose this community because of its `good education for children, culture, celebrating a Jewish communal lifestyle and protecting the environment`. Apart from the Jewish communal lifestyle, which can be celebrated just as successful in Amsterdam and New York, the other basic principles are things that Palestinian care for just as much as Jews. Why should the desire to give your children good education be something exclusively Jewish?
Why can Palestinians not have the same aspirations?
