| While I am not a jew, I have follow Isreal`s story both with admiration and sadness. Admiration for how the jewish people have contributed to humanity exponentially compared to other cultures and how their sense of culture and identification bonds them together. Sadness because so many opportunities have been missed for a comprehensive peace and the deaths and destruction that have occurred in between. America is a true friend of Israel, but Israel must learn that their policies regarding settlements are not only illegal (based on many UN resolutions and agreements), but also have stained the moral ground bot you Israel and the US by extension. I urge all readers to be pragmatic and not fanatic; to recognized that Palestinians deserve to live in peace, security, and free; that we (Americans) understand Israel`s legitimate security concerns and the terror they are exposed to; but also, that there will never be peace if the occupied territories keep being bullishly taken. |
