Demands?
Has Obama `demanded` that the West Bank be evacuated?
No, he has only `demanded` that the current plan to double the size of the settlements be halted.
Is this demand so vile?
Of course it is.
And that is Netanyahu`s dilemma. Unless he meets every `demand` for restraint with a doubling of the settlements, he fails.
And yet without massive government subsidies there can be no doubling of the settlements.
Netanyahu must stick to his guns or see his career end.
There is Ehud Barak, who is willing to prostitute himself in any fashion to be Prime Minister again.
But IF Israel changes course from the total population of Judea and Samaria at ANY cost to the rest of Israel, how can Netanyahu survive?
And if there is no longer a lunatic right to out flank to the right, how will General Barak explain his anti-Labor actions to the voters of Labor?
Barak Obama could bring down an entire generation of (incompetent) Israeli politicians unless he is stopped. |
