Uneducated?! When the Haredim were frozen out of the system in the early 50`s and 60`s they established a network of Vocational schools where the young men who weren`t suited to Learning would acquire skills that would enable them to function in Israeli society. Indeed, on account of the bias, then, of bringing Haredim who were inducted, to place them into combat units, they served as the techs. You wouldn`t see them because they wore their berets rather than their kipot, so they might not be as "visible".

Look around, "secular"! They may not attend university, but they have skills that keep the econmy running in micro. Who is going to add the "phasa" to the addition to your villa, or install the plumbing, or repair you computer, or set up the security system in your business? Its likely that the young man who comes in the door is carrying his tools, and, his tzitzit are hanging out of his slacks. He might even have a beard.
