To Anna, Or we can assume that there is more pressure against divorce and great stigma attached to divorce in the Haredi community. Also consider that most of these women are not educated in any field that will give them financial independence. Women are trapped in bad marriages for financial reasons. There is no better way to keep people from asserting their own best interest than keeping them uneducated.
