| "The Arabs where and remain a fragmented people." (Gilad) Wrong. There is no (one) Arab people, fragmented or not. There are Arab states, each and its own ruler and its own interests. " ... the Arabs that are unaligned with reality on the ground." (Gilad) And what is, please explain, this "reality on the ground" the Arabs are so "unaligned with" ? Are our 41 years old obviously unsuccessful efforts to control a stateless population - what show our leadership as being more "aligned with reality" than the Arabs? "The Muslim world is controlled by dictators and through violence." (Gilad) Yes. Then ... ? Is that a reason to never seek peace with them? What is Mubarak? A model of democratically elected leader? Let me tell you a secret: Obama has no expectation from the Arabs. His only expectations are from Middle East leaders/rulers. Begin didn`t make peace with the Egyptians. He made peace with Pres. Anwar Sadat. Dayeinu. This is what means being "aligned with reality". |
