| Gideon Levy believes that the labour party or kadima don`t really want peace.Of course,they have commited mistakes by not ending settlement activities but Levy`s analysis is superficial.First of all, the labour party and kadima focused on allowing the expansion of settlement blocks which represent less than 10% of the West Bank.This is different from likud`s ideology which aims the establishment of settlements all over the West Bank.Olmert proposed more than 98% of the West Bank to the Palestinians,he came close to reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians. By the way,Quoreia recognised that is Olmert had remained in office we would have probably reach peace before the end of 2009. I think Levy is just furious that Israel has not always worked for peace.Maybe he should take into account that the Palestinians also bare responsibility for the failure of the peace process. Imagine there would be no Hamas. Do you really think Netanyahu or Sharon would have been elected? |
