| Whether the Israelis like it or not, the continued expansion of Israeli settlements are a a determent to peace and serve no purpose but to encourage settler extremist and incite hatred of the west by billions of Muslims the world over. The US must insist,, and forcibly demand, that Israel stop all of its settlement construction entirely in order to begin the process of dismantlement in order to allow the the creation of a Palestinian state. Israelis and Palestinians must learn to accept Israel`s existence behind its pre-1967 borders just and finally draw a line in the sand. If one or both disagree, then a single secular state is the only option left, and I doubt that either side is willing to accept that outcome. |
