No one has suggested a freeze of childbirth in the settlements. Settlers may have all the children they want. They just can`t continue to expand their colonies on stolen land. If they cannot house their brood, they must move. India is very crowded, but that does not give it the right to colonize another country. If the settlers would accept the population density of WB Palestinians, they could house a lot of new kids, but they want to live like Israeli Jefes.
Refugee return to Israel is problematic. The solution may be for Israel to cede more land (in addition to 100% of the WB except for agreed land swaps) and pay reparations. Palestinian refugees, like all humans, had property rights that were violated when Israel denied their right of return. Those property interests must, in the name of justice, be honored.
There can be no just peace until all lands seized in 1967 are returned to the Palestinians and the refuggee issue is settled. |
