| While the effectiveness of the UN is often in doubt, it is simplistic to say it should be eliminated because it doesn`t always agree with Israel and the US. It is NOT your organization alone. Despite the whining, the US in particular uses the UN umbrella to conduct many activities it might not otherwise want to, or be able to, launch unilaterally. The UN is a whipping boy. Besides, you Israelis have never wanted a strong and effective UN force in Lebanon - at least not one that would insist and enforce correct behavior from all parties, including you. |
