The "Loyalty Oath" as proposed by Lieberman is an undemocratic and probably at odds with Israel`s Basic Law.
I would like to propose an alternative that is not all that different but stipulates the States Loyalty to all citizens.
I pledge loyalty to the State of Israel the Jewish National Homeland founded on the Zionist principles that the symbols and institutions of the State will serve and defend the rights and responsibilities of all citizens equally regardless of origins or beliefs under the law. |
