| 1. Maybe Allen got the Christian vote not on "normal" vs. "deviant" issues because he is a Christian while Lambert was the Jew? 2. There was speculation Dan Gokey`s (christian singer background) supporters naturally would swing to Allen ... 3. What was the margin of Allen`s victory? Apparently Allen won by 1.1% (about 1.232 million votes -they said over 112 million votes toatal)--HOWEVER there were some sports events going on that night-especially a PIttsburgh_carolina NHL playoff game--if NHL hockey fans in the USA tuned in to that game in greater numbers than Allen`s margin of victory it is possible that many of those who also watch Idol on other nights with no hockey on might have voted for Lambert in greater numbers than for Allen (various reasons) . 3. 38 million votes from Allen`s home state of Arkansas is disproportionate to the whole of America-something to do with a phone system enabling more bloc votes there. So, OTHER REASONS than just an anti-deviant vote. |
