Bradley Burston, disliking what Israel is, has hit upon the happy device of just pretending it`s something else.
Let`s face some facts. Homosexuals cannot parade through Jerusalem. Israel is on the verge of being the first state to MANDATE historical denial -- not Holocaust denial, but close enough. In Israel, you can be imprisoned for preaching, lynched for being queer, and -- prospectively -- prosecuted for drawing attention to unpleasant historical facts.
Whatever else Israel is, it is not a haven of tolerance and acceptance. |
