People really need to stop politicizing everything. Since the very beginning, American Idol has been one of the most racially diverse shows when it came to the contestants; one year had all of the Top 3 being non-White, and Blacks have won the show THREE times. This kind of junk didn`t enter the fray until this year.
As for the Jewish thing - that is absurd. No one knew that Lambert was Jewish. It wasn`t reported in any mainstream media sources, nor did he ever say it (he still hasn`t), nor does his name sound like it. The only papers that reported on him being Jewish were Jewish and Israeli papers, and I`m sorry to break this to you, but most Americans don`t read them.
Now that Lambert lost, these same papers are throwing "Jewish" in there along with "gay" , apparently because they can. No one cited anti-Semitism when Elliot Yamin was voted off at #3 three years ago, and I don`t see why we should start now. Grow up. |
