I am a huge fan of Adam Lambert, and would have very much liked to see him win, for a number of reasons, including an affirmation (real or imagined) that Americans can look past difference to what really matters.
Having said that, I would not be surprised to find that "finagling" occurred regarding the voting results. The show *always* makes a point of revealing the number of votes, and the spread (number of votes) between the contestants. This season, they made a point of *not* knowing, which I find hard to swallow. On Larry King Live, Ryan Seacrest made a point of asking Paula if she knew, and stating that he didn`t know either...which I find very...unlikely. Unless, they chose not to know because they knew it would just be easier to be ignorant.
If Allen did, indeed, have the greatest number of votes, it is likely because young teen girls texted all night, which added up more quickly than phone votes. |
